What's Coming to ChoreLogger
ChoreLogger has been live for a little while now, and the response from families has been genuinely encouraging. So I wanted to share what I'm working on next.
Points and rewards
This is the big one. Right now ChoreLogger tracks chores and pocket money, but a lot of families have told me they want something beyond cash. Screen time, a later bedtime, a trip to the cinema, choosing what's for dinner. The kind of rewards that matter to kids but don't cost anything.
The plan is a points system that runs alongside the existing pocket money tracking. Kids earn points for completing chores, and parents set what those points are worth. A family movie night might cost 500 points. An extra hour of gaming might cost 200. Parents stay in control of what's on offer; kids have something tangible to work towards.
It's the feature I'm most excited about building, and it's next on the list.
A few smaller things too
Alongside the points system I'm also looking at push notifications (so kids actually know when a new chore has been assigned) and some improvements to how the app works on Android.
No promises on timing
I build ChoreLogger solo around family life, so I don't put dates on things. But if you want to follow along, the best way is to sign up and keep an eye on the blog.
